Artist's Comments
A print based off of "Eve's Apology in the Defense of Women", and Paradise Lost.
The woman is Eve, the man is Adam, the things in the sky are Lucifer and his angels falling in flames of nothing. Ahh, Brit. Lit.. How I adore thee... It's kind of funny how much I love this class... DISCLAIMER: I might offend you in the following comments. If you have a strong view about the formation of the universe that doesn't follow evolutionary theory, I ask that you not read the rest of this post. See it as you will, but I do NOT want any nasty notes. This print started when I read these works and got to thinking, "What if Eve also ate the apple, but she swallowed?" and "Maybe Satan wasn't so bad." and "Did this all come from a ploy at democracy and a friggin' apple?!" It all seems kind of silly as a theory of the universe, but it's still an amazing story to me. I mean, what a GREAT plot. The only thing is, I keep coming out of the story saying, "Wait, God seemed like the bad guy..." This is just a spin on Adam and Eve and Lucifer's fall. Editorial Note I don't particularly want critiques on this. I know that it is not the best version of the print (I gave the best one away) and I used too much ink. I do, however, welcome advice on line and origional design. |
